Alicante airport is growing

Air traffic from Alicante airport is growing by ten percent. The airport is preparing on a busy summer!

Although there are currently many scaffolding in the departure hall and various zones of the hall have been closed off because of renovations, Alicante airport expects to be ready for the summer season. The management of Alicante airport expects 12 million travelers to use the airport between April 1 and November 1. That is 10.1% more than last year. These estimates are made based on the number of flights scheduled for the peak season. That is growing by 7.8% to 68,000. From this weekend, every weekend until the end of October, 607 flights will be handled per weekend. There are also 5 new destinations on the program this summer: Porto, Marseille, Oviedo, Nador and Casablanca.

Despite the concern about the Brexit, the number of flights to Great Britain continues to grow, with 4.6 million aircraft seats available, an increase of 9.1%. The number of travelers from the Netherlands (708,000 flying seats, an increase of 5.9%) and Belgium (578,000, an increase of 20.5%) is also growing.
